Business: Like many other business areas, human resources has become a complex and often muddy issue, filled with laws and regulations that all businesses - large and small alike - must be aware of. The Management Advantage Inc., a Walnut Creek consulting agency that specializes in government compliance issues like equal opportunity employment, affirmative action and labor regulations, boasts a broad list of clients that range from Boeing to the City of Oakland. The company is owned and operated by Bill Truesdell, a longtime HR specialist who teaches part-time at UC-Berkeley.

Content: @@@@@ Business owners looking to get better acquainted with human resource laws and regulations will find a wide range of helpful resources here. Although the site is used primarily as a tool to sell books and software products specializing in this ares, there are some valuable reports that are accessible free of charge. Visitors can also sign up for Truesdell's free newsletter.

Ease: @@@@ A sharp design that is nearly impossible to get lost in. Each page sports the same navigation bar, so flipping back and forth is not a problem. The only minor flaw is the "HR's Best Kept Secret" link on the front, which takes you out of the site without telling you.

Graphics: @@@ Attractive design that flows well. Not a particularly heavy use of graphics here.

Overall: @@@@@ A very effective use of the Web to expand a company's business reach. Lots of free, helpful data and reasonable prices on others. A good visit for a small business owner or human resources professional.
