The Kansas No Smoking Poster is required for ALL employers in the state, regardless of size. It must be posted where other employment compliance posters are located and must be available to employees as of July 1, 2010.

Kansas’ governor has signed into law a statewide smoking ban (HB 2221). The law bans smoking in restaurants, bars, places of employment, and other public places.

Business owner responsibilities now include:

• Post the "Smoking is Prohibited by State Law" poster (sign)
• Remove ashtrays and other smoking receptacles from non-smoking areas
• Inform employees about the new law (existing and future employees)
• Prohibit anyone from smoking inside place of business, including employees, vendors, and customers.
