Temporary Employee Wages

(SB 940, 7/22/2008)

Requires weekly payment of wages to temporary employees (or daily if an employee is assigned to a client on a day-to-day basis or a client involved in a trade dispute). Does not apply to employees who are assigned to a client for over 90 consecutive calendar days unless the employer pays the employee weekly in compliance with this law. Applies civil and criminal penalties to the wage payment requirements, creating a new crime in California law.

Expanded Employer Liability

Expands employer liability if an employer requires an employee to execute a release showing a false report of hours worked.
